Louis Armstrong

Louis "Satchmo" Arsmstrong (1900 - 1971) was one of the most popular jazz musicians of all time. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Louis played in the dance halls of New Orleans until the early 1920's, when he traveled to Chicago to seek his destiny.

A jazz legend, Armstrong was famous for both his singing and his horn playing.

An international ambassador for the U.S.A. and for jazz, he toured Europe, Africa, and Asia to the delight and excitement of his millions of fans.
